Women’s Sober Living in Miami

A structured, 12-step focused recovery home for women in North Miami Beach, serving Miami, North Miami, Aventura and Miami Gardens. FARR-accredited nonprofit sober living with more than 10 years behind it.

A women’s recovery home in Miami-Dade

Blue Waters Recovery Foundation runs a women’s sober living home in North Miami Beach, in the 33162 ZIP code near the Miami-Dade/Broward line. It’s a safe, alcohol- and drug-free home where women in recovery live together, hold each other accountable and practice everyday life.

Blue Waters began with a women’s home. Our founder, Tiffany Skuraton, is a woman in long-term recovery who once faced addiction and homelessness in South Florida. Early in her sobriety she dreamed of running a small recovery home for women, offering the accountability and support she had needed herself. That dream became our first house. More than 10 years later, the same structure runs in every Blue Waters home, including our women’s home in North Miami Beach.

Men and women live in separate homes. We also have a men’s home in North Miami Beach, and women’s homes in Pompano Beach and Oakland Park in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Who our Miami women’s home is for

Our home is for adult women who are serious about their sobriety and want structure around them while they rebuild.

After detox or treatment

Many women come to us after detox or a treatment program, or while attending outpatient care. If you need medical withdrawal care, that comes first. See detox & withdrawal help, then call us when you’re ready.

Coming home

If you’re leaving jail or prison, we can talk before you’re released. People in jail can call Blue Waters through the Securus phone system for a free assessment. Coming home help.

If your work, family, meetings or outpatient care are in northern Miami-Dade, North Miami Beach keeps you close to them. Parents & kids resources and women’s groups.

Women on MAT

Residents on MAT are welcome at every house, including people taking buprenorphine (Suboxone), naltrexone (Vivitrol) or methadone as prescribed by their own doctor. We don’t prescribe or provide medical services. MAT programs.

Referred by court or probation

Public defenders, attorneys, courts, probation officers and case managers can refer a client through our contact form.

If you’re looking for a home for a daughter, wife, sister or mom, our families page explains what sober living is and how to help without enabling.

How the recovery structure works

If you’re serious about your sobriety, we’ll take your sobriety seriously. Here’s what that looks like in our Miami women’s home.

  • Clear structure: house meetings, daily chores, room checks and curfews, with the same house expectations in every Blue Waters home
  • 12-step meetings every week: five in-person 12-step meetings a week, with a signed meeting sheet. Any “Anonymous” 12-step meeting counts (AA, NA, CA, CMA and so on)
  • Real accountability: random and frequent monitored drug and alcohol testing
  • Weekly one-on-ones with house managers on sponsor, steps, meetings, work and goals
  • Long-term phases: curfews and privileges ease as you make progress and build time
  • Work and routine: a steady job, or looking for work on weekdays, with job-search support
  • Non-medical and independent: not detox or treatment, and not affiliated with any treatment center
